Essex Caledonian Pipe Band is available for hire as either a full band (15+ players), mini band (7-10 players) or we can provide solo pipers. We’ve taken part in a wide range of engagements, from playing onstage at the Royal Albert Hall to surprise wedding appearances and leading local carnivals and parades.

We also welcome prospective members of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. We teach new players ourselves, and simply ask that learners put in as much effort as they are able to – after all, you get out of it what you put in! All members pay a small monthly subscription (under 18s pay a reduced rate) which goes towards hiring the practice venue.

We practice between 8pm to 10pm, every Tuesday at Chelmer Valley High School in Chelmsford. Occasionally practices will be cancelled, so do get in touch beforehand if you’d like to visit, especially as the school can be a bit of a labyrinth – just follow the sound of the pipes!
